Bury motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network in the next two weeks.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm on October 24, 2022, to 6am on February 11 slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, from junction 17 to junction 18 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M66, from 8pm on January 18 to 6am on February 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 1 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm yesterday, Monday, January 23 to 6am on Monday, January 30, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 clockwise, junction 16 - M62 eastbound, junction 19 - M60 anticlockwise, junction 17 - M60 anticlockwise - M66 northbound, junction three - M66 southbound, junction three - M60 anticlockwise, junction 19 lane closures and slip road closures and carriageway closures due to survey works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M66, from 8pm tonight, Tuesday, January 24 to 6am on February 18, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 southbound, junction 1 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8.30pm on Tuesday, January 31 to 5am on Thursday, February 2, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for communications.

• M66, from 8pm on Wednesday, February 1 to 6am on February 25, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 southbound, junction 1 to 2 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• A56, from 8pm on Friday, February 3 to 7am on Friday, February 11, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: A56 northbound, M66 junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm on Monday, February 6 to 6am on Monday, February 13, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 clockwise junction 16 - M62 eastbound, junction 19 - M62 westbound, junction 19 - M60 anticlockwise, junction 17 - M60 anticlockwise - M66 northbound, junction three - M66 southbound, junction three - M60 anticlockwise junction, 19 lane closures and slip road closures and carriageway closures due to survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
