Bury-born TV star Gemma Atkinson has opened up about a time when she kept her pregnancy quiet during her early scans.

The actress and Hits Radio host, 38, took to Instagram to share how “amazing” Radcliffe pregnancy centre Hey Baby 4D were during the early stages of her pregnancy when her and Gorka Marquez were trying to keep the news quiet.

The Strictly Come Dancing finalist thanked them especially for opening early for them.

Gemma and Gorka revealed the news that she is expecting a boy earlier today in an Instagram post showing her belly off.

In an Instagram story with Gorka, she said: “Me and Gork just want to say a huge, huge thank you to Hey Baby 4D in Radcliffe.

“We found out really early didn’t we this time?

“Gork was still do Strictly at the time.

“So, we obviously went for scans and stuff and I had to make that cringy phone call to say ‘my fella’s currently working on a massive show and we don’t know if we’re okay’.

“And they opened up earlier for us to go in

“And they were literally round the corner from where my nana and grandad used to live.

“They were amazing, and they’re local so I would highly recommend.”

She also thanked her fans for their “lovely messages” and “well-wishes” following her pregnancy announcement.

The former Hollyoaks star, and Strictly Come Dancing professional, 32, already share a daughter Mia who they welcomed in 2019.

Gemma said: “Thank you everyone for all your lovely well messages and well-wishes.

“It’s lovely.

“Number two and a little boy, crickey, a little boy, how very lucky I am, but prepared for chaos.

“My sisters got two lads and a girl, so I am full prepared for the chaos.

“Cannot wait, bring it on.”

During their daughter Mia’s birth, Gemma needed an emergency C-section when her baby’s heart rate dropped suddenly and the actress suffered a haemorrhage after the birth, losing nearly a litre of blood.

She previously admitted the experience in 2019 left her having nightmares and originally adamant she would not want another child.

However, last year she said she finally felt ready to have a second baby after working through her initial fear.
