We've rounded up a number of Bury cases heard by magistrates recently - read on to find out who's been in the dock.
Drink driving
A man has been banned from the roads after drink driving.
Michael Bryan, 41, of Edinburgh Road, Little Lever, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had driven on Bury New Road, Bury, on September 19 last year while over the legal limit for alcohol.
He was fined £1,000, banned from driving for 36 months and ordered to complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
Knife
A woman was given a suspended sentence after assaulting another woman, sending racially offensive text and carrying a knife in a public place.
Alice Kotrmanova, 19, of Deansgate, Bolton, pleased guilty at Bolton Magistrates Court that she had been carrying the knife on Bond Street, Bury on August 14 last year.
That same day she also assaulted a woman in Bury.
The next month, on September 21 she sent racially aggravated offensive text messages to another woman.
Kotrmanova was given a sentence of 26 weeks suspended for 18 months.
She was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and to pay a total of £454.
Cannabis
A man was given a suspended prison sentence after being caught with cannabis he had been intending to supply.
Craig Michael York, 34, of Heathfield Road, Whitefield, admitted to Bolton Magistrates Court that he had the Class B drug, which he had been intending to supply to others, in his possession on September 9 2021.
He was given a sentence of 20 weeks, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work with 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
York was also ordered to pay a total of £213.
Stealing DVDs
A man was fined after stealing DVDs in Bury.
Dylan Owen, 21, of Mather Avenue, Whitefield, pleaded guilty to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he stole the DVDs from HMV in Bury on September 15 last year.
He was ordered to pay £307 worth of compensation and given a 12-month conditional discharge.
Identify driver
A man was ordered to pay more than £300 after failing to identify a driver for police.
Almaz Mahmood, 31, of Shepherd Street, Bury, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that on May 6 last year he failed to identify the driver of a Volkswagen Passat when asked to do so by police.
He was ordered to pay a total of £338.
