Greater Manchester Police Special officers have received training on using speeding gun devices to crack down on motorists who break the law.
Residents across many areas of Bury including Redvales, Tottington and Prestwich have complained about the increase in speeders recently and have campaigned for new measures to be put in place.
Neighbourhood and Special constables were given their training on Friday with the hope that enforcement operations will make roads across the borough safer.
Special officers are voluntary workers who give up their own time for the force.

On social media, a police spokesperson said: “Friday saw further neighbourhood officers and GMP Special constables receive their training on our recent new speed gun device.
“More officers trained will see increased speed enforcement operations across the Bury district.
“Remember - the speed limit is there for a reason!”
