Do you remember Radcliffe town centre when it looked like this?
Taken in February 1969 this photo shows the Blackburn Street, Deansgate and Dale Street area of the town with Boots, the Midland Bank and Edwards all part of the parade of shops on the right. Barclays Bank is situated facing the camera and on the left is the Westminster Bank - it was before it became the NatWest.
What else do you recognise? What was the large building in the centre of the photo you can see on the skyline?
Leave a comment if you remember anything about the town centre in the Sixties.
