Two singer-songwriters will be performing together in Bury next week.
Lauren Housley, from South Yorkshire, and Australian Nigel Wearne will perform an evening of intimate acoustic tracks at The Met on Thursday, January 19 at 7.30pm.
The pair met in 2019 at an arts café in Montreal when they were both in the Canadian city for the Folk Alliance International conference.
After instantly hitting it off they reconnected in New Orleans in early 2020, kept in touch and say they have been scheming to join forces ever since.
Both keep their love of storytelling at the heart of their music and will be closing the show with a “soul-stirring” set together.
Lauren was recently awarded a 2022 Bob Harris Emerging Artist accolade and deals with love, loss and the turbulence of growing up in her music.
Nigel Wearne, from Gunditjmara, an area in the deep south of Australia, has been given a four star review in world renowned music magazine Rolling Stone and a nomination for Best Country Album at the Music Victoria Awards.
He debuted at number one on the Australian Music Radio Airplay project and blends blues, folk and Americana-noir, into his music.
Tickets for the evening are £16 per person and can be bought here.
