Another new school getting ready to welcome pupils for the first time in the Bury area in the early 1970s.
This photo shows the second phase of the new Ainsworth CE Infants School in April 1971. The building, costing £20,550 would house the school hall and a library space and would be in in use after the pupils returned from their holidays. It would also be used for school dinners.
The extension was completed 10 years after the original new school building opened.
Did you go to Ainsworth CE School? Do you remember going into the new extension?
