A fitness building and nature programme is returning in the new year.
The Sunnywood Project's Fit for the Wild encourages “want-to-be” runners or hikers at the start of their fitness journey to challenge themselves while exploring green spaces.
Both hiking and running programmes are over a six-week period with less challenging routes and distances, gradually increasing each week.
Hikers will explore Kirklees Valley, Burrs Country Park, the Jumbles, Whitehead Lodges, Birtle and Holcombe Moor.
Runners will go at a pace that suits them around Kirklees Trail, taking breaks when they need to and avoiding busy pavements and tarmac.

The aim is to either complete The Sunnywood Project 5k Burrs Community Run or a challenging hike over Holcombe Moor.
The programme will begin in January, taking place on a Thursday evening or Sunday morning.
