A Bury toy firm is donating a range of fun-filled gifts to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital to raise the spirits of young patients during the festive season.

Sambro, based on Dumers Lane, has teamed up with brands such as Disney, Paramount and Hasbro, to share a selection of its items with the children at the hospital, including arts and crafts, Felties, Barbie fashion creative toys, in the form of key characters like Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig and the Disney Princesses.

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity exists to enhance the experience of the 280,000-plus children cared for by the hospital every year.

The charity supports excellence in treatment, research and care the hospital provides to its young patients.

CEO at Sambro, Paul Blackaby, said: “Giving back is important to us at Sambro, particularly when it comes to our local Greater Manchester community.

“Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is such a worthy cause and we’re honoured to be able to offer some happiness this Christmas with our toys hopefully bringing a smile to a child’s face.

“At Sambro we’re always looking for ways to give back to the local community, and we hope this donation makes the festive period a little more special for the kids in hospital this Christmas.”

Relationship manager at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, Jack Bright, added: “Sambro’s generous gift will mean the world to children spending the festive season in our children’s hospital.

"All the staff at Sambro should be proud that their thoughtful gesture will be making children smile and give them a little pick-me-up at what can be an emotional and difficult time.

“As a charity, Christmas is a particularly important time for us and we know this time of year is often when people turn their thoughts to how they can help others.

"Thanks to Sambro and others like them we have plenty of toys and gifts for the children now, so I’d urge anyone else who wants to make a contribution to visit our special Christmas website at mftcharitychristmas.org.uk to make a donation.

"Donations on the website will not just help our patients and families at Christmas, but all year round.

“Thank you to Sambro and everyone who has supported us this year and Merry Christmas.”
