We've rounded up a number of Bury cases heard by magistrates recently - read on to find out who's been in the dock.
Assaulting emergency workers
A man from Bury has been given a suspended sentence and ordered to pay £200 after assaulting emergency workers.
Tyler Codie Smith, 22 of Massey Street, Bury, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had assaulted police and paramedics in Bolton on April 3 this year.
He also used threatening and insulting words to two officers.
Smith was given a total sentence of six months, suspended for 24 months and ordered to pay a total of £200.
Community order
A man has been fined after failing to comply with a community order.
Stephen Herbert Bowden, 34 of Orchid Drive, Bury, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had failed to attend Bury Probation Office for an appointment on June 23 this year.
He had also failed to attend a thinking skills accredited programme on June 23.
Bowden was ordered to pay £60.
Speeding
A woman was ordered to pay more than £200 after speeding in Bury.
Julie Ashman, 59 of Saxon Vale, York admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that she had driven on the M60 between junctions 17 and 16 in Bury at speeds of 57mph.
This was above the limit of 50mph.
Ashman was ordered to pay £277.
Assault
A man was jailed after an assault.
Peter Harris, 34 of Radcliffe, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he committed the assault on December 5 this year.
He was given a sentence of 16 weeks.
Driving
A man was fined after speeding in Bury.
Liam John Connor Dowdell, 45 of Macclesfield Road, Wilmslow, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had driven on the M60 in Bury at speeds of 71mph, above the speed limit.
He was ordered to pay a total of £512.
Seatbelt
A teenager was ordered to pay more than £300 after travelling without wearning a seatbelt.
David Hladik, 19 of Heywood Road, Prestwich, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he rode in the front seat of a car on Bury Old Road, Cheetham Hill on March 1 this year.
This broke the Motor Vehicles (Wearing of Seat Belts) Regulations of 1993.
Hladik was ordered to pay £344.
Suspended sentence
A man was given a suspended sentence after failing to turn up to probation appointments.
Daniel William Helm, 53 of Battersbey Street, Bury, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had breached a community order by failing to arrive for planned probation appointments on August 17 and 25 this year.
He was given a sentence of 16 weeks, suspended for 18 months and ordered to complete an extra five rehabilitation activity requirement days.
