Tottington Methodist Church is continuing its established tradition of seasonal Village Collections for Porch Boxes, the Radcliffe based Food Charity.
Tottington Methodist Church in conjunction with the Tottington Centre will hold a Christmas Village Collection on Saturday, 3 December, from 10am to 11am in the Tottington Centre Car Park.
Anyone is welcome to visit the car park and bring their donations of food for Porch Boxes to help those in need in the borough, especially at a time when the cost of living is rising significantly.
Items most needed are: tins of hot dogs, tuna, meatballs, ravioli, chilli, beans & sausage, meat, spaghetti Bolognese, rice pudding, custard and tinned fruit, biscuits, savoury rice, bottles of squash, canned drinks, small cartons of fruit juice, instant noodles, pasta & sauce, cake bars, jelly pots, mini-jars of jam, crisps and uht milk (semi-skimmed & full fat).
Also, seasonal items such as Selection Boxes, Christmas themed Chocolates & Cakes and Chocolate Bars.
Christmas Puddings and Mince Pies are not required this year.
The Church and the Centre are hoping for an equally successful collection as those previously held and encourage everyone in the community to support this very worthwhile cause.
On December 4, the Methodist Church, in Market Street will hold their annual Christmas Gift Service for Porch Boxes at 10.30am, which enables those who cannot attend the car park on the Saturday, to bring their gifts on the Sunday.
Julia Rowlands, Chairman of Porch Boxes will be speaking at the service.
