Five people have been charged by police in Bury after a "serious" crash in Rochdale.
Police said the incident "occurred in the Derwent Drive area of Bury in May earlier this year and resulted in a serious collision in Rochdale".
A man has been charged with burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without third party insurance.
Four other people have also been charged with allowing themselves to be carried in a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.
Greater Manchester Police has been approached for more information about the five people who have been charged, such as their names, addresses and ages.
On social media, a police spokesman said: “Bury's Neighbourhood Crime Team have charged a male with burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without third party insurance.
“Four others have also been charged with allowing themselves to be carried in a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.
“This incident occurred in the Derwent Drive area of Bury in May this year and resulted in a serious collision in Rochdale.
“The selfish and reckless actions of the offenders that night could quite easily have had tragic consequences.
“We loathe burglars, and we will utilise every power we have to ensure offenders are brought to justice.
“Also, if you're thinking of getting into a stolen vehicle, think again!
“Not only are you putting yourself and others at risk, this is a criminal offence which may result in prosecution.
“All five will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court in December.”
