Black History Month is set to be celebrated in Bury through a cultural reflection and conversation event this week.
The free special event will be taking place on Friday, October 28 at Bury Art Gallery.
Charmaine Turner, an artist featured in the museum’s ongoing Spirit of A Place and Presence exhibition, will be joined by gallery curator Susan Lord and special guest Jumoke Ilvebabor, founder of the African and Caribbean Women's Centre in Bury.
Taking place from 2pm to 4pm, residents are invited to go along and talk about their experiences of life in Bury, and bring any items which have significant meaning to their culture or heritage to chat about or donate to the museum’s collections.
All ages are welcome and the event is hoped to provide a relaxed opportunity to share stories.
The Spirit of a Place and Presence exhibition runs until January.
