A Bury men’s mental health charity is celebrating after yet another record-breaking turnout.
Andy’s Man Club, had another record-breaking night as 45 men walked through their doors to talk openly about their life and remember that ‘it’s okay not to be okay’.
Having opened its doors in March 2022, the club’s popularity has rapidly grown as the
Lead facilitator for Bury, Luke Tetlow-Cross, said: “It’s crackers, I just keep thinking to myself wow.
“I remember on our first ever session, at the start of the night I took a picture and we had 22 chairs out, I was thinking I will probably get four of five people and we’ve got way too many chairs, then 25 people turned up.
“Now, it’s like déjà vu all over again, this week I set out 42 chairs and 45 people turned up!”
Whenever a new face comes in, Luke asks out of curiosity where they found out about the club, out of the 45 who came this week, nine new faces were counted, seven of whom said they came after seeing a Facebook post from the group.
Luke, who volunteers his time said: “You do think it is a lot of hard work doing all the social media, the events and setting them up but when you get numbers like that it really is worth it every second that we put into it.

“All the facilitators are volunteers, we don’t get paid it’s all completely 100 per cent voluntary, but it really does make it worth it to see the men coming through the door like that.
The free-to-attend peer-to-peer support group is for men over 18-years-old and takes place every Monday night from 7pm at Bury Sports Club.

Although the numbers keep growing, Luke said that the venue should be able to hold everyone, he added: “We should be able to get around 120 to 130 people in here, but I don’t know how comfortable it would be.
“If the club continues to grow then we might have to look at a second venue in Bury just to help but that’s a conversation for the future.”
