A man has been charged after a firearm was found at Fairfield General Hospital following a police chase.
During a police pursuit on Tweedale Street in Rochdale at around 11am on Tuesday, a car crashed into another vehicle.
A man was detained by police and taken to Fairfield General Hospital in Bury to treat his serious but non-life-threatening injuries, thought to have been caused by the crash.
Shortly afterwards a concealed firearm was found.
Police said no further risk was caused to the public but the area was sealed off.
Ahad Hussain, 25, of West Street, Rochdale, was subsequently charged with possession of a firearm, possession with intent to supply and dangerous driving.
He is due to appear in Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today, Thursday.
