An American Stranger Things and Fleabag star has visited Bury’s oldest pub for a new Channel 4 comedy.
Bury’s oldest pub, the Two Tubs, has been host to Channel 4 for the past two days as they filmed a new TV show starring Brett Gelman.
The programme, "Entitled", features the "Stranger Things", "Fleabag" and "Without Remorse" star Geman and has also been created and executively produced by comedian Matt Morgan.
The show will follow Gabe, played by Gelman, an American widower who must get to know his British wife’s estranged family in their crumbling gothic mansion in the English countryside.
As the show plays out, they begin to compete for his affections – and his newly inherited fortune.
The filming for the show began in August, however, the filming at Two Tubs only began yesterday, Thursday, and finished today, Friday.
Bury residents shared their curiosity on Facebook with a number of people saying they had seen a Stranger Things cast member.
One commenter said: “My son said he spotted someone from Stranger Things going in”.
Another added: “It's Brett Gelman, aka Murray from Stranger Things, I asked one of the security outside."
Two Tubs has confirmed that the filming was for the 2023 "Entitled" comedy programme for Channel 4.
Speaking about the show, Brett Gelman said: “I am so excited to be back at it with my fam that is Harry, Jack, and Sarah at Two Brothers.
“I am so incredibly grateful to Channel 4 and Showtime and blessed to have a genius like Matt creating such a deliciously twisted world."
Fiona McDermott, head of Comedy at Channel 4, added: “The series is a brilliant marriage of Brett and Matt’s talents; wicked and hilarious, Entitled promises to deliver a comic ensemble with a ruthless, mischievous and gripping story and we’re really thrilled to be working with Showtime and Two Brothers Pictures to deliver it for a Channel 4 audience”.
