An Edenfield animal sanctuary is raising money for Buster the dog, who is unable to walk after he collapsed.
Bleakholt on Bury Old Road is appealing for surgery donations to help one of their dogs walk again.
Buster, a six-year-old male Akita, was taken in by Bleakholt through what they say is "no fault of his own".
After one week in the sanctuary, Buster collapsed and was unable to walk.
He was later diagnosed with a double degenerative cruciate problem, meaning he needs surgery on both his legs.
Sanctuary manager Karen Weed said: “He is the friendliest boy, he adores people and is good with other pets but sadly, after just one week at the sanctuary he collapsed and was unable to walk.
“We know times are very hard at the moment but if anyone is able to donate no matter how small it will make such a difference,
"Buster has a long life ahead of him yet. Everything is crossed for this beautiful boy.”
The surgery is said to have a very high success rate but will cost over £7,000.
So far, the animal sanctuary has raised £802 of their total and well-wishers on Facebook shared their love and wished Buster good luck.
