THE latest production by Holy Cross College is set to be the biggest and best yet.
For more than 150 students have spent the past six months working on their version of West Side Story.
Loosely based on the story of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the show tells the story of two teenagers from rival gangs who fall in love.
The cast, orchestra and crew have their work cut out as they perform the show in its 50th anniversary year.
Paul Campbell, head of performing arts, said: "It's a play that we have wanted to do for several years, but it is incredibly complex to stage and musically very challenging.
"It's the most complex set that we have ever used. It's very intricate.
"I very much want this to be a show to remember."
The curtain will go up at 7.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.
Tickets cost £7 and are available from the college in Manchester Road, Bury, or by calling (0161) 762 4500.
