A Prestwich charity is celebrating 25 years of helping people better manage their mental health but is asking for its building to have a 'facelift to mark the occasion.
The Creative Living Centre on Rectory Lane will be sharing memories of the years, putting on a commemorative performance, and burying a time capsule as part of the landmark anniversary.
But the organisation is asking for help to give its site a fresh look.
Outreach co-ordinator Charlotte Clegg said: “The building is well loved, but that also means its well-used and is looking very worn in areas.
“We have been incredibly lucky, we’ve had donations of decorating equipment from Polyflor, and Bury Crown Decorating Centre, and we had help from Asda community grants.
“But, even though we are doing our best we still need help.”
The group aims to offer a safe and friendly space with access to a range of therapies, one-to-one support, peer mentoring, education and recreational and social activities.
Although the group are doing the best they can in fixing up the well-used building, extra help is being requested to improve the building’s environment for their members.
Charlotte added: “Volunteers are always welcome but especially ones with decorating ability and know-how.
“We know that environment makes a huge difference to our member’s wellbeing, and if we can give the place a facelift before our anniversary, that would be a phenomenal way to move into our next 25 years.”
