An iconic Bury Market black pudding stall is celebrating its 20th anniversary as it continues to go from strength to strength.
The Bury Black Pudding Company, which created its unique recipe more than a century ago, has grown at speed in the two decades that it has been based at the market
It now boasts an impressive list of customers across the country including supermarkets such as Asda and a brand new partnership with a local building company.
Brand and marketing manager at the firm, Matthew McDermid, said: “2022 is a special year for the business as we mark our 20-year milestone, although our black pudding recipe has been in existence for over 100 years!
“From humble beginnings with a stall at Bury Market to the launch of a website and a contract with Asda, which started regionally and grew to a national level, followed by a commitment from other supermarkets, the company has enjoyed exceptional growth and success over the last 20 years."
Matthew added: “It is the dedication and hard work of all the staff at the factory which is testament to what can be achieved.
"Bury is synonymous with the best black pudding in the country, the world even, and The Bury Black Pudding Company offers it at the highest quality.”
The company's next venture will be with home builder Bellway, which was keen to develop links within the community.
Head of sales at Bellway, Grace Yarlett, said: “We are thrilled to be working with The Bury Black Pudding Company in what is their 20th year in business.”
The partnership means that new home buyers will receive a moving in gift of ’30 Best Loved Recipes’ from the black pudding company.
The show home kitchen will also contain a bespoke wall display dedicated to The Bury Black Pudding Company and the market.
Grace said: “They are well established in the area and I am sure buyers at Bridleway Grange will enjoy trying the recipes from the book and will visit Bury Market to purchase products on a regular basis.”
