A police operation to keep women safe on a night out will take place in Bury.
Operation Lioness will see increased patrols across Bury throughout the weekend.
The operation aims to keep women and girls safe, combat predatory behaviour and safeguard anyone who is vulnerable.”
Chief Inspector Sam Goldie said: “Operation Lioness is a dedicated operation to prevent violence against women and girls.
“Here in Bury, we’ve focussed our attention on the parks, the transport and the night-time economy.
“So, if you’re out in the park, say hello to our officers. They’re there to help and support you and make you feel safer.
“The same can be said on our transport network, so if you’re on the Metrolink, if you’re on the buses, if you’re in the Hub please go and say hello to them if you’re feeling vulnerable or if you need any assistance.
“So, we just want you to have a good night out.
“If you’re feeling vulnerable, if you’re feeling threatened, please go and see one if our officers and make them aware.”
