BURY has been issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms today, Sunday.
The Met Office has issued a warning that storms are developing across England and Wales which may cause travel diruption and in some areas, floods.
The warning was issued at midnight last night and will last until 6pm this evening.
The Met Office has told residents in areas affected by the yellow weather warning to seek shelter from storms, avoiding water, trees, poles or metal objects.
If driving during a storm, motorists should wind up their windows and stay inside the car.

The forecast in Bury suggests the final day of Platinum Jubilee celebrations will be wetter and cloudier than in previous days.
There is a high chance of rain throughout the day, with both heavy and light showers predicted.
There will be some dry and cloudy times throughout today with temperatures remaining at around 11C.
