The borough's mayor went along to Bury Croquet Club for their annual fundraising event for Bury Hospice on St George’s Day at Coronation Park in Radcliffe.
Cllr Tim Pickstone visited the club with his consort Wayne Burrows, who partnered with the club president David Barrett, while the mayor partnered with club chairman Roy Spencer who played a short game of croquet.
The result at the end was an honourable draw.

In addition to the mayor and consort, Bury Hospice representative Pat Lomas attended and there was a dance demonstration by Radcliffe Street Shakers enjoyed by the audience.
Visitors took part in demonstration games of croquet with club members, many of whom had not tried the game before and enjoyed themselves.
Mr Spencer said: “The club is highly delighted with the way the event went, with excellent attendance and we have raised a significant sum for Bury Hospice, and thanks all concerned for their support and involvement.”
For anyone who missed this event or would like to try croquet again, the clubs next event is National Croquet Day on Saturday, May 21 at Whitehead Park in Bury.
