A high school has been recognised following its latest inspection.
In a report published by education watchdog Ofsted, lead inspector Stephen Roddy described Elton High School as a "happy and safe place where children achieve well" and noted the school's "well-planned and ambitious curriculum".
It was also stated that harmful behaviour and bullying issues were resolved quickly by staff and school leaders and governors ensure that pupils study a well-structured and ambitious curriculum.
The report also highlighted the wide range of extracurricular clubs and activities that the school provides where all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged, are encouraged to participate in the wider curriculum.
The Walshaw Road school scored "good" overall.
Head teacher Jonathan Wilton said: "The report gives an accurate reflection of our school: Elton is a place where young people succeed academically and thrive in a welcoming and positive environment.
"The inspection outcome is testament to the students, parents, staff and governors who work together so effectively to keep the school thriving."
