BURY Fire Choir and The Encore Youth Choir joined on Thursday night to sing songs of hope in solidarity with those impacted by the conflict in Ukraine.
The free concert at Bury Parish Church, on The Rock, began at 7pm, joining communities of all ages and faiths.
Conductor of Bury Fire Choir and The Encore Youth Choir, Katie Geelan, said: “We wanted to put on an event for people in Bury to show support for the people of Ukraine
“We’ll be singing songs of hope and solidarity which is the message of the night, bringing hope and peace, looking towards a better world."
All donations raised from the event will go towards helping those in Ukraine.
Katie added: “We all watch the news and have seen the images from the conflict, but other than donating, you still don’t feel that’s doing enough.
“That’s why I think the energy and effort going into this makes me, as an individual, feel like I can do something, for our community too.”
Mayor of Bury, Cllr Tim Pickstone, also attended the event.
On Thursday night, he said: “Im really glad that this service is happening tonight.
“Bury has a really proud tradition of welcoming people who are fleeing war, and we are proud to stand with the people of Ukraine."
