Bury Council has issued a statement after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in front of horrified shoppers in the town centre.
Cllr Gold, cabinet member for communities said: “Our thoughts are with the victim's family and friends at this sad time.
“A police investigation is underway, and I would like to reassure the community that every effort is being made to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
"Extra police are also patrolling the town centre. I would urge anyone with any information to contact Greater Manchester Police.
"You can also pass on this information anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
Three teenagers have been arrested overnight on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man in Bury town centre yesterday afternoon.
At around 3.50pm on Friday March 11, police received a report of a stabbing on Market Street, Bury.
Emergency services attended and a 19-year-old man was taken to hospital but he was sadly pronounced dead a short while later.
