A HERO pub landlord from Bury is set to featured on TV for his crimebusting exploits.
The Bury Times revealed last August how Stewart Spensley, who runs The Two Tubs in Market Place, had tackled a thief who attempted to run off with a charity box.
Ex-squaddie Stewart had served with murdered trooper Lee Rigby in the Army and the charity box contained donations for the foundation established in his memory.
Stewart chased down the thief, who had snatched the collection tin even though it was chained to the bar.
The thief tried to threaten him but was tackled to the ground by Stewart and later handed over to police.
And now the drama is set to be recounted today in an episode of Dom Littlewood's Caught Red-Handed on BBC1.
His segment, which follows his last TV slot in BBC North West news, will air at 10.45am and be available later on the BBC iPlayer.
A spokesman for The Two Tubs said: "We hope you all tune in - and then come on in for a cosy drink at the scene of the crime."
* Lewis McDermott, then 21, from Oldham, was given a 12-month community order by a Minshull Street Crown Court judge, after admitting to the theft, which a judge branded as "despicable".
