A MAN in his fifties is in hospital after being stabbed in the back during an altercation with three youths in Bury last night.
Emergency services were called to Burns Avenue on July 31 following reports of a disturbance.
Police say that a 55-year-old man was involved in an altercation with three youngsters who were causing damage to parked cars.
Paramedics attended, and the man was rushed to hospital with a stab wound to the back. A 37-year-old woman was also pushed over during the incident, but did not require hospital treatment.
Investigations are still ongoing and no one has been arrested in connection with the incident, as of 7pm on August 1.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 10pm on Saturday July 31, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Burns Avenue in Bury.
"Enquiries have established that the victim - a man aged 55 - was involved in an altercation with three youths who were causing damage to parked cars.
"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the back. He remains in a stable condition.
"A woman - aged 37 - was also pushed but did not require any hospital treatment. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
