A MAN has been charged after a young girl died following a collision with a car in Radcliffe.
Eleven-year-old Ruby Cropper is believed to have been crossing Radcliffe New Road with a friend at around 4.30pm on Monday, August 10 when the incident occurred.
Ruby, of Hollinhurst Road, Radcliffe, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where she sadly passed away on Wednesday, August 12, despite the best efforts of medical staff.
Andrew Cairns, 35, of Sutcliffe Street, Littleborough has now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving. He will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates court on Thursday, June 24.
Police were called following reports of a collision involving a blue Suzuki Alto and a pedestrian close to the junction of Hollinhurst Road where Ruby lived.
