A BURY family is hoping to rival Blackpool's famous illuminations with their display this Christmas.
For Ann and Barry Hill have covered their home in Birks Drive with an array of lights and decorations.
It is the fifth year that the couple have put up the display, and they say it has got bigger and better each year.
Ann (51) switched on the lights on December 1 and they light up the street from 4.30pm to 11pm every day.
She said: "We started putting up the lights as a join effort with our next-door neighbours, but we're the only ones doing it now. People ask us when we're putting them up and they love seeing them. Everyone sees them as they come into the street."
The display has proved a real hit with the couple's grandchildren, Stephanie (10), Brandon (8) and Callum (2), as well as their neighbours.
Ann, who works as a teaching assistant at Holy Trinity Primary School, said: "We have had no complaints from our neighbours. In fact, everyone seems to love them. My grandson, Callum, comes round every night to see the lights. I don't think my grandchildren would be at all happy if I decided to stop putting them up."
