RADCLIFFE Cricket Club has submitted a planning application to build a new practice facility at its Racecourse ground.
The Unsworth Street outfit hope to install a double bay net surrounded by a fence on the northern part of their home ground close to the current net facility.
In their supporting statement, the club, said: "Due to the potential for vandalism it is a felt that a secure perimeter fence is required to provide protection for the facility.
"This fence needs to be sufficiently high as to act as a deterrent and strong enough to reduce the potential for damage to the fence."
The current nets are orientated east to west but the new facility would be turned 90 degrees to point north to south.
The club say the nets will be used by the club for senior cricket, junior cricket, women's cricket and also be made available for local schools.
