RAMSBOTTOM TV presenter Victoria Derbyshire has been nominated for a prestigious journalism award.
The former Bury Grammar School for Girls student has been shortlisted in the Network Presenter of the Year category at the Royal Television Society (RTS)Television Journalism Awards 2021.
Her fellow nominees include Bolton-born newsreader, Clive Myrie and CNN news anchor, John King.
The 52-year-old, who took part in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here last year, previously won two RTS Awards in 2018 for Network Presenter of the Year and Interview of the Year,
The BBC leads the way with 23 nominations across the 19 categories including ‘News Channel of the Year’, and ‘Breaking News’ for the coverage of Boris Johnson being rushed to hospital with Covid-19. ITV and Sky News follow garnering 10 nominations each, both including ‘Scoop of the Year’ and ‘Television Journalist of the Year’, for which the nominees include Alex Crawford for Sky News and Robert Moore for ITV News.
The prestigious awards will be presented, and the winners and nominees celebrated, on Wednesday, February 24 on the RTS website, hosted by BBC Radio 4 and BBC News at Ten presenter, Mishal Husain.
