A YORKSHIRE businessman has donated a range of specially-made beds to Bury care homes in a bid to ensure residents have safe and comfortable beds amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Bury North MP James Daly received a phone-call from Amjid Hussain, owner of ‘Handcraft Beds’ in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, where the businessman told of his charitable intentions.
Mr Hussain wanted to donate the special range of beds to Bury Care Homes in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and has now called on his industry peers to follow his generous lead.
The special beds are made with waterproof material, which is fire retardant, while are also breathable and anti-bacterial.
Their specifications are ideal for residents that require special care within care homes.
Amjid Hussain said "My bed company is committed to ensuring those who are in care homes have a safe and comfortable bed available to them to improve care and treatment experience.
"I am calling on our peers in the bed industry to join us in addressing this need.”
James Daly said: “Bury based companies have sought to provide front line staff in hospitals and care homes with relief by offering free food and PPE.
"This generous donation of special beds by Amjid from Dewsbury is a continuation of this amazing effort to combat the battle against the coronavirus.”
