A 22-year-old man who was left with serious burns after house fire has died.
Neighbours spotted the blaze during the early hours of the morning in Kestrel Drive, near Hoyles Park, on Saturday, October 5.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and were able to stop the fire from spreading but not before the man was gravely injured.
Police have today (Wednesday) confirmed that he died as a result of the burns.
A spokesman for GMP said: "The 22-year-old man has sadly passed away.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file will be passed to the coroner."
Residents of neighbouring properties were woken up after windows in the home began to explode because of the fire.
The man was then seen covered in flames running from his home and a group of people tried to help him while paramedics arrived.
