POLICE have arrested a man after two women were tied up and robbed in their homes.
Officers announced they had detained the 46-year-old suspect on Friday night after the two incidents in Prestwich and Salford.
He has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remains in police custody.
The first burglary involved a 77-year-old woman who was confronted by a masked man on the landing of her own home in York Avenue, Prestwich, at 6.50am on Monday, September 30.
The burglar tied her hands and feet and demanded money and the pin numbers to her bank cards before fleeing with the cards, as well as cash and jewellery.
The following day, Tuesday, October 1, a 28-year-old woman was woken in her bedroom on Bury New Road, Salford, at 4.30am, to find a masked man standing over her.
He demanded the victim's phone, money and the PIN numbers to her bank cards before tying her hands and feet and fleeing with the items and a laptop.
Police believe the two burglaries are linked.
