LOCAL community groups are being encouraged to apply for a share of a new £250,000 funding pot.
Any society, group, charity or local authority can apply for the Empowering our Communities” fund, which was launched by the region’s network operator Electricity North West.
The firm’s community energy manager, Helen Seagrave, said: “This is an exciting time for community groups across the North West to apply for potentially life changing funds.
"The funding can be used to support a wide range of activities including producing materials, buying equipment, supporting staff time or technical expertise and much, much more.”
Prospective projects must demonstrate an element of community involvement or local benefit, with the money designed to help communities to become more resilient.
The deadline for applications is 8 November. More information can be found online at: www.enwl.co.uk/empowering-our-communities.
