SOME performers write thought-provoking lyrics, others write cracking melodies. But Tottington’s Conor Molloy excels at both.

With impeccable songwriting influences such as Paul Heaton and Kirsty MacColl, Conor’s lyrics demonstrate he is a natural born storyteller. Match that with his melodies, which range from the dark and sinister to the chirpy and humorous, and he’s definitely a singer who is destined for great things.

In fact, Heaton quickly recognised this and asked Conor to support him at no less than the Royal Albert Hall last year.

Talent recognises talent and Heaton, one of the most successful singer-songwriters of all time, has declared himself a fan, even selecting one of Conor’s tracks when he guested on Radio 6.

You can see the appeal by going along to Conor’s next gig at the King's Arms in Salford on August 25.

More immediately, his next single, Saturday Night, is released tomorrow.
