A HUGE cannabis farm has been found in Bury and officers are appealing for help.
More than 600 cannabis plants, with an estimated value of £500,000, were found in the Walsh Lane area after police were called to reports of a gas leak.
Shortly after 8.30pm last night, police were called by the fire service to reports of a gas leak and, when searching the premises, discovered the farm.
No arrests have been made but enquiries are ongoing. Police are asking if anyone has information that could help the investigation.
Police Constable Joanne Irish of GMP’s Bury borough, said: “The supply and use of drugs on our street will not be tolerated, and a full investigation has been launched to find those responsible.
"Our biggest weapon in the fight against drugs is information from the public, so if you saw anything suspicious then please get in touch with us.
“If you know something, or if you suspect that drugs are being cultivated or sold in your area then get in touch with our local team on 0161 856 9741.”
Details can also be passed on anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
