A LANE was blocked on the M66 this morning following a crash on the southbound carriageway.
The crash occurred between Junction 3 for Pilsworth and Junction 4 at Simister Island, resulting in the third lane being closed.
The vehicles involved in the crash have now been moved to the hard shoulder and all lanes have been reopened.
However, commuters are continuing to experience delays, with traffic currently backing up to Junction 1.
Rosso, which run buses in Rossendale, Bury and Rochdale, said the incident is resulting in delays on their services.
We are seeing delays on roads heading into Bury from the north due to an accident on the M66 causing traffic to divert. This is affecting routes 481/2/3/5. Sorry for any delays.
