A RADCLIFFE couple who met through a church choir are celebrating 50 years of harmony today!
Eileen and Alec Woodward, of Outwood Road, will mark their golden wedding anniversary surrounded by friends, family and other wellwishers.
Later, they plan a holiday abroad.
Born and bred locally, they began their courtship as teenagers after joining the choir at St Aidan's Church in Outwood. They were married in St Saviour's Church in Ringley.
Alec (72) was a painter and decorator throughout his working life. He was with Radcliffe Paper Mill for 21 years before being self-employed for 20 years prior to his retirement. Wife Eileen (68) was involved in shop work and before her retirement was a staff member at Asda Radcliffe for 11 years.
Married with one son, three daughters, six grandchildren and two great granddaughters, the couple fulfil various pastimes. Alec enjoys fishing and gardening while Eileen also likes to potter about the garden and taking trips out.
