DUE to the closure of 10 of the borough's libraries the council is giving away its surplus books.

Community group, charities and schools are all eligible to select items which are no longer required by the library service.

Those who are part of an eligible group can arrange to pick books, audio-visual items and furniture from buildings that are closing.

People wishing to take advantage of the surplus books should email library.suggestions@bury.gov.uk to make an appointment.

Proof an organisation is eligible may be required and the items must be collected on the day of the appointment.
