BUS services in Bury could be about to see major transformation after plans were announced for Rosso to join the Transdev Blazefield group of companies.
Rossendale Borough Council, which owns Rosso, has reached an agreement to sell its shares in the company to Transdev after an approval by council members at a meeting on December 20.
As part of the agreement Transdev is planning significant investment in Rosso, including around £3 million of spending and state-of-the-art new buses to be placed on the busiest bus routes.
A Transdev Spokesperson said: "The Rosso business has got great potential for development and as a takeover happens we are planning an investment programme, including new vehicles.
"From day one after the takeover, however, it will be business as usual for staff and customers."
Following the proposed deal Transdev says there will be no immediate changes to Rosso services.
