Further to our statement last week, which was composed before the sentence of the bus driver who was in court following the death of my parents John and Elsie Steel.
On reflection, I would like to add that whilst I am still in agreement with the jury's decision of guilty to driving without due care and attention, my family and I feel let down by the leniency of the sentence, given the severity of this tragic accident.
In our opinion the driver has got off very lightly.
Although we appreciate that he has to live with the consequence of his actions, under the justice system is he really paying for the taking of two lives.
