After 42 years working in the electricity supply industry, I know that power produced by wind turbines is useless to the engineers who are trying to balance generation with demand. Relying on such a fickle supply is not a sensible option, it would only lead to power cuts.

Brazil's "no car" day does nothing to offset the damage that ruthless already rich people are doing to the rainforest. Until the world's governments take action to stop this destruction, all our efforts will be in vain. The planet will continue to die.
