Generous Sarah Ross raised £520 for charity by hosting a curry buffet in her garden to celebrate her 18th birthday.
Instead of presents, Sarah, who lives in Whitefield, asked for donations to Christie Hospital.
Sarah, who attended Bury Grammar School, said: "I knew I had to do something special to celebrate my 18th, so I thought it would be a good idea to raise money for Christie's."
The student got involved with the charity when her grandmother died from cancer nine years ago. Over the past few years she has raised thousands for Christie's by helping organise school quizzes, toast sales and lots of other events.
Jackie Plant, Christie's regional appeals officer, said: "Sarah has been helping us out since she was small and she's always a pleasure to work with."
