WHEN we think of health and beauty, we often think of hairdressers or salons, however one business is trying to change that.
Stay 'n' Play Doggy Daycare Centre in Radcliffe has successfully been shortlisted for the health and beauty award at the Made in Bury Business Awards (MIBBA).
The daycare centre, run by Luke Millington and Jason Morgan, will compete against an organic hair salon and a boutique hotel for the coveted prize.
Although a little unusual, owner Luke says they're just as entitled as any other business to win the prize.
He said: "I know that when you think of that category, you think of hair and beauty, but we thought that we should have the opportunity to put ourselves forward for the award because we look after dogs day after day. We exercise them, we walk them, we train them, we feed them, we look after their health. We're also a dog groomers so we make them look beautiful as well.
"We just thought it was something a little bit different. We actually took a half groomed dog to groom in front of the judges to show what we can do.
"We got quite a lot of funny looks walking through the town centre!"
Mr Millington and Mr Morgan will attend the awards ceremony at the Longfield Suite on Thursday November 23.
The pair are feeling optimistic about the forthcoming awards.
Luke said: "We are feeling hopeful, I think we might be in for a good chance."
The doggy daycare business in Dale Industrial Estate, Phoenix Way, has gone from strength to strength since opening in September 2016. The centre recently celebrated having restrictions lifted, allowing them to care for puppies.
