YOUNG gymnasts from a Radcliffe school vaulted to victory in a children's version of the Olympic Games.
Six pupils from Radcliffe Hall Primary School saw off competition to represent Bury in the Greater Manchester Mini Games. With the help of Commonwealth gold medallist John Smethurst, the gymnasts learned a floor routine with a range of moves.
The nine-year-olds travelled to Middleton for the event, where they were pitted against other school teams.
Although the Radcliffe gymnasts did not win the competition, they were given the fair play award for their hard work and achievement. PE co-ordinator Miss Maura Shepherd said: "They had a fantastic time and they really did us proud. They went with a really good attitude, which is why they won the award. It was good for them to come back with it."
