PETOWNERS across Bury who keep tortoises and terrapins flocked to Wilkos at The Rock in Bury for their pet weigh-in.
The British Chelonia Group Health Check Weigh-In offered pet owners free advice and information on their tortoises and terrapins, as well as physically checking their weight and general health.
Although hibernation is not a necessity for these animals, for those who choose to hibernate their pets, the event allowed the chance to ensure the animals had enough weight to survive in good health.
Five different species totalling to 34 animals were brought along to the event - a turnout that organiser John Thorpe was delighted with.
Mr Thorpe said: "The weather outside was dull and wet,but the atmosphere inside was great and we hope that we were of service to everyone who took the trouble to come along.
"I would like to thank the store's management for their continued support in providing a venue for the event and of course all the people who took the trouble to attend with their animals."
If anyone needs any help or advice with their pets, John is happy to oblige and can be reached on 0161 764 7078 or at john.thorpe1952@gmail.com
The next event will take place in April 2018 at the same venue.
