IT was an eventful weekend for Radcliffe's cricketers, as they bounced back from being dumped out of the cup on a bowl-out to tie with Oldham in the league the following day.

There was no chance of play at the Triple8 Racecourse on Friday night, so the Twenty20 quarter-final against Norden was decided on a bowl-out - Radcliffe failing to hit the stumps once.

However there was joy the next day when Damion Keegan's side chased down Oldham's 128 to tie the game, thanks to Simon Belston's four from the last delivery of the game.

"A tie was probably a fair result," said Keegan. "I think we should have won the game twice, and lost the game twice so we can have no complaints.

"We bowled well, but we had a bit of a batting collapse and made it difficult for ourselves at the end.

"It was not nice to go out of the Twenty20 Cup on a bowl-out, but it is better than tossing a coin."

Tomorrow, Radcliffe host title-chasing Rochdale while the seconds will try and get their Burton Cup semi-final with Littleborough on after it was rained off last weekend.

"Every game from now on is a hard game," said Keegan. "Rochdale are a good side, but we are confident and know we can do well and surprise a few teams between now and the end of the season."

The club are running a summer school for children aged between 8 and 15 in the week beginning August 6.

The club's professional, Usman Tariq, who has scored 800 runs this season, will be taking the five-day course that runs between 10am and 3pm.
