WE started the July meeting of Cockey Moor WI with a drink to celebrate the 14th birthday of our branch.
Our entertainment was provided by Brian White, whose theme was A Lancashire lad and his ukulele.
Ably assisted by his wife, he sang and played many George Formby songs, and we did not need much encouragement to join in on the choruses. Everyoneagreed it had been a very enjoyable evening.
Later this month we are promised a Night of Music with Richard Hall. Our meetings are held every month on the second monday at the Unitarian School Hall, Knowsley Road, Ainsworth, 7:30pm. New members welcome.
